Governor Falls, Fern Fever Falls (Hog Hole Stream) Lion Falls, Orchid Falls Gordon Town

Ever since I paved the way to Lion Falls Denine wanted to visit even though she's always so iffy which I don't mind I wasn't the one missing out. The plan was to meet up Friday May 6, 2022 at 8am. I made reservations with Ramo the day before but guess what she was extremely late and Ramo canceled our reservations because he had other reservations and was booked out for the day. To be honest I really didn't need his help in going back up to Lion Falls. I knew the way, also remember that cutting down the tree to use as a ladder was my idea. Plus I did not want to feel rushed like my last visit, I wanted to take my time and explore. He did some improvements to the place, he added a rope on the blot Kyle and his friends left in the rock, so it'll be easier to pull yourself up. He also added ropes along the trail so you can have something to hold onto while walking up. I was so sure Denine would be able to make it up without problems. I told Ramo I was still coming out of respect because we had to walk through his property. Ricardo lives in the area so I invited him just in case I ran into difficulties while trying to find the waterfalls on the other stream.

Today's adventure was supposed to be a quick hike up to Lion Falls, however when I got to Prettyclose the group that was there on my last visit was also there and they decided that they wanted in on the adventure so I had to play tour guide, during the hike another man from the area joined in to show them the way back just incase I didn't made in back down from Lion Falls in time. After crossing the intersection where the two streams collide and become one from here on, the locals call it the Flora River. Everyone was asking how much further we had to hike lol, you could tell that they haven't been on much adventures.

Ever since my first visit back in 2019 I knew there were more waterfalls in the area but I just didn't know how to get to them. Well back in 2020 Kyle and his crew went rappelling in the area, he gave me an insight of the locations however he said they would be extremely hard to access by going upstream well with my persistence nothing is too hard for me cause I made it to Lion Falls with just a log and came back without a scratch.

When we arrived at Orchid Falls they were happy to see a waterfall lol so I left them and headed for Lion Falls. What was supposed to be a quick trip to Lion Falls turned into a nightmare for Denine. She could not manage the hike over the hillside, and even though there were ropes in place to use to help and pull yourself up she was holding onto dirt and air lol. If it wasn't for Ricardo I don't know how she would've managed, it was kind of funny I was thinking to myself that if she can't manage the hike up how she gonna climb the log up to conquer the Lion

Eventually she made it up the hillside, over the big rock and into the riverbed. The real challenge was  ahead if only she knew. It literally took her one year and six months to get up the log. She almost fell off countless times, simply because she is hard headed even with Ricardo and Chris (the man from the area) she was still acting coward 😂. This might have been the most challenging adventure for her thus far, now she finally understands why I said it was dangerous, she even lost her gold bracelet. In my eyes the harder the battle the sweeter the victory because she was rewarded with a magnificent waterfall. I could see the look in her eyes that it was worth it but not long after her phone took a dive.Thank God no rocks were falling off the cliffs this time around however not long after it started to drizzle, we had to wrap up and leave. and once again Denine could not make it back down after several attempts Ricardo had to swing her down on the rope like Tarzan. 😇💪 Ricardo ensured that Denine was safe and once she was back at Orchid Falls it was time to start bringing some ideas to life.

Orchid Falls

It didn't take us any time to get back to where the stream collided and started the real adventure. I think this stream is called Hog Hole because it is situated in a canyon, however the first waterfall is very easy to get to just three minutes upstream. Ramo named it Governor Falls, I can actually see why though it is sounded by huge rocks that form a natural jacuzzi with crystal waters flowing out through a narrow path. This is another cute waterfall like Mushroom Wings Falls perfect for photos and relaxation. I got some photos but I did not want to spend a lot of time here, I wanted to save it for when we're heading back.

Now to continue upstream we had to climb over the huge boulders, once again Denine couldn't make it, Ricardo helped her though while I ventured off ahead of them. The further we went the more the stream got narrow, we were in a canyon surrounded by boulders and lush green trees.

Half way up to the second waterfall we passed a pile of garbage, mostly plastic bottles. Jamaica has a serious littering problem. Seeing garbage in an area like this made me wonder though, there must be an actual trail that leads to the waterfall other than walking in the river. However it was getting late and I did not want to venture off without finding the waterfall because I did not know how much further we'd have to go. Eventually after another ten minutes of destroying spiders' home that was built on fallen tree debris in the river bed, I laid eyes on Fern Fever Falls. He didn't seem to be in all his glory but nevertheless beautiful. I was low key disappointed because I was hoping I could find a way to climb over it though. Ricardo scout out the area and try to climb over the waterfall, well let's just say he went half way and could not make it down the same path he took to get there. I had to map out a way for him to get down, while Denine enjoyed the water, I think we make a great team! Unfortunately Denine's phone took another dive and she was ready to go before I even got a chance to take photos, so we did not spend a lot of time enjoying this beauty even though it  formed a natural pool and the crystal water looked enticing.

The actual hike time to this gem is roughly twenty minutes so I'll definitely visit again for a picnic and  a little skinny dipping. On the way back down we stopped at a spot where thick tree rooms grew over a huge rock to form perfect art.

We had a mini photoshoot then climbed back down to Governor Falls and while it was our turn to climb down she fell off the rock and fell into the water, thank God it was water! While she sat and rested I soaked up some of the refreshing coolness and took in the fresh air.

This adventure is definitely for the books. I'm glad Denine only ended up with a few scratches and no broken bones. This was like my fifth trip to Gordon Town in the last two months and I still didn't find all that I sat out to seek. Time to go the other route, maybe I'll be lucky and find Big Ben and his brothers. YouTube video dropping soon, stay tuned  and subscribe to my YouTube channel Exploring With Tifaney. Sadly I am not sure when my next adventure will be, why you may ask. Well I've lost sight of my priorities and getting caught up in this world, so I'll be taking time to set myself apart. Yes I am a child of God I know sometimes it may seem like I am not but let me assure you that I am hence why I need to spend more time reading and studying the Bible. while educating myself on these new age madness. Until next time 'seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.' Matthew 6:33 KJV
